CMS migration services that move sites without losing rankings

Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, Webflow, Tilda, custom-coded sites, and CMS-to-CMS moves. We have shipped 200+ migrations, and we know where the unforced errors hide.

Migration is moving an existing site from one platform to another without burning the search rankings, breaking the URLs, or losing the content history. It is not a redesign. It is not a fresh build. It is a careful port where the goal is that nothing visible to your customers, search engines, or analytics breaks on launch day.

We have done over 200 of these. The first 30 taught us where things go wrong. The migrations we ship now have a 12-step checklist that touches everything from 301 redirects to canonical tags to image alt-text and structured data. We are happy to share the checklist before the project, not as a sales artifact, but so you know what we will actually do.

Where most migrations come from

About 40% of our migration work is Wix or Squarespace to WordPress. Brands that started on a hosted builder and outgrew the design ceiling, the per-feature pricing, or the SEO limits. Standard timeline: 7 to 14 days, fixed price from $1,500. We have a side-by-side breakdown on the WordPress vs Wix post.

About 25% is Shopify to WooCommerce on WordPress, or to OpenCart. Stores tired of the per-transaction fee, the locked checkout, or the app-tax that adds $300/month before any margin. Catalog imports, customer accounts, and order history come along.

About 15% is CMS-to-CMS: WordPress to Drupal when content modeling needs more rigor, Drupal to WordPress when the editorial team wants speed, OpenCart to Magento when SKUs cross 10K. The rest is custom-coded legacy systems where the old developer is gone and the database is the only documentation left.

What we do not do: forced migrations away from a platform that fits. If WordPress is right for you and you read a competitor's pitch about Webflow, the answer is to fix the WordPress install, not migrate.

The Development and Advantages of WordPress CMS Websites

WordPress runs 43% of the web. There is a reason for that, and it is not marketing. The platform got the editor right, kept the plugin ecosystem open, and stayed cheap to host. For most business websites, those three things settle the question of which CMS to use. Below is what actually matters when you […]

What is preserved, and what is rebuilt

Preserved by default: every URL via 301 redirects, page titles, meta descriptions, canonical tags, image alt-text, internal link structure, customer accounts (for stores), order history, and analytics-tagging continuity. Rebuilt as part of the migration: theme and design (because old themes rarely survive a platform move), template logic, and any plugin-driven features that have a native equivalent on the target CMS.

Pricing is fixed before kickoff. Brochure-site migrations: $1,500 to $4,500. Stores under 1,000 SKUs: $3,500 to $9,000. Larger stores or content sites with 1,000+ pages: $9,000 to $25,000. We send a written scope with the deliverable list, the freeze window, and the launch checklist before any payment. Tell us about the source site below and we will reply with a recommendation and a number within two business days.

FAQ

Will my Google rankings drop after the migration?

Short-term: a 5 to 15% dip is normal in the first 2 to 4 weeks while Google recrawls. Long-term: every migration we have shipped has recovered fully within 6 to 8 weeks, and most beat the old baseline because the new platform is faster. We deliver a redirect map, a sitemap, and a Search Console resubmission as part of the launch.

How long does the project take from kickoff to launch?

Brochure site under 50 pages: 7 to 14 days. Store with 100 to 1,000 products: 14 to 21 days. Content site with thousands of articles or store with 1,000+ SKUs: 4 to 8 weeks. The freeze window (when you stop publishing on the old site) is usually 24 to 72 hours.

Do you migrate from Wix and Squarespace?

Yes, this is about 40% of our migration work. Wix and Squarespace export options are limited, so we use a combination of API exports, HTML scraping, and content scripts to pull pages, posts, images, and SEO data. The output goes into WordPress (most common), OpenCart, or whichever target CMS fits the project.

Can you migrate a site without changing how it looks?

Yes. We can replicate the existing design pixel-close on the new CMS, which is what most clients want when the migration is platform-driven (cost, performance, control) rather than design-driven. If you want a redesign and a migration in the same project, we quote them as two phases so you can compare costs and decide.

What happens if something breaks after launch?

Every migration ships with a 30-day post-launch warranty. Bugs, broken redirects, and recrawl issues are fixed at no extra cost. After 30 days, you can either move to a monthly support plan from $99/month or handle ongoing care yourself. We hand over every credential, the redirect map, and the deployment notes on day one.
